Aquavitro Salinity Salt

Description

salinity™ is a blend of salts specifically formulated for the reef aquarium that contains all essential major, minor, and trace components found in natural reef waters, but contains no toxic or non-essential components. Additionally, salinity™ is the most concentrated salt blend on the market. With a hydration level of <0.5% salinity™ will yield a greater volume of prepared saltwater at a salinity of 35‰ per unit of weight than any other salt mix currently on the market. salinity™ is identical to the distribution of anions and cations found in Natural Seawater (NSW). We have compiled data from all the oceans and seas on the Earth, and have targeted the midpoint of the range for each element. We guarantee to be within ± 5% of the midpoint. For example, at a salinity of 35‰, for calcium, magnesium, and strontium, we have the following targets and ranges.

Calcium: target 422 mg/L, range 400 to 443 mg/L

Magnesium: target 1336 mg/L, range 1269 to 1403 mg/L

Strontium: target 8.4 mg/L, range 8.0 to 8.8 mg/L

Alkalinity and pH values vary widely over the Earth’s oceans. salinity™ will be within the following ranges:

pH: 8.4 to 8.6

Alkalinity: 3.2 to 3.8 meq/L

Sizes

Net 2.72 kg (6 lbs) Makes 75 Liters (20 US gallons), Net 15.87 kg (35 lbs) Makes 450 Liters (120 US gallons), Net 29.75 kg (65.5 lbs) Makes 850 Liters (225 US gallons)

Directions
  1. Mix salinity™ with dechlorinated tap or purified water. We recommend the use of a commercial dechlorinator like alpha™ to neutralize any tap water chlorine and/or chloramines. If source water quality is poor we recommend purification with a Seachem Pinnacle™ RO/DI system. To prepare small quantities, bring 35 grams of salinity™ up to a volume of 1 liter, or add 36.27 grams to 1 liter of water. [This is a little less than 1/2 cup of salt per US gallon of water. For 15 gallons use 7 cups of salinity™.]
  2. Stir well to ensure a good mix. Although the salinity™ solution may be used immediately, we suggest mixing for approximately 24 hours to achieve oxygen/carbon dioxide equilibrium.
  3. Measure the salinity.
  4. Adjust salt level accordingly. If salinity is too low, then add more salinity™. If too high, add more water.
  5. Change 20% of aquarium water every two weeks (or as necessary) to maintain optimum water quality.

USAGE NOTE: NEVER mix salt in an aquarium containing livestock. Transfer livestock to the aquarium AFTER salt is completely mixed and specific gravity has been adjusted. Use Seachem’s Stability® to avoid “new tank syndrome” and to prevent unnecessary livestock losses in a new system.

CAUTION: SALINITY™ IS NOT FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION. KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. Contact in dry form may cause skin or eye irritation. In case of eye contact, completely flush eye(s) with cool water and seek medical attention.

Guaranteed Ranges

We guarantee that salinity™ will have a batch-specific guaranteed analysis that falls within the ranges below

Novus Fine Scratch Remover

Novus Plastic and Acrylic cleaning solutions are widely used by professionals in almost every industry. Their easy system is very simple to follow and the results speak for themselves. Use the whole system or just a single step to make your Acrylic tank look better than new.

Fine Scratch remover will remove most fine scratches, haziness, and other abrasions from acrylic and most other plastics while restoring faded and discolored plastics. By removing the damaged areas instead of filling them in like other products the abrasion is gone for good. For best results, we recommend polishing with step #1 anytime after using step #2.

Works on a wide variety of plastic surfaces.

Instructions:

Step 1: Observe condition of the surface to be treated. The deeper the scratches, the greater the pressure required to remove them. If the surface is dirty, clean with NOVUS No.1 before applying NOVUS No. 2.

Step 2: Shake well. Test in an inconspicuous area.

Step 3: Apply NOVUS No. 2 liberally. Using a clean, soft cloth, polish with a firm back-and-forth motion at right angles to the scratches. Keep the cloth saturated with polish at all times.

Step 4: When the worst scratches have been polished out, reapply NOVUS No.2 uniformly in a circular motion to the entire surface using short, circular strokes and light pressure. Allow to dry to a light haze.

Step 5: Using a clean portion of the cloth, buff the surface to a slippery glaze using firm, short strokes. This procedure is imperative in achieving the best results.

Step 6: For heavy scratches, multiple applications of NOVUS No. 2 or application of NOVUS No. 3 may be required.

Step 7: Follow with NOVUS No. 1 for best results.

For fine scratches that will not be removed by Novus #1 Plastic Clean & Shine we suggest using Novus #2 Fine Scratch Remover. Larger, deeper scratches may require Novus #3 Heavy Scratch Remover.

Novus Heavy Scratch Remover

Novus Plastic and Acrylic cleaning solutions are widely used by professionals in almost every industry. Their system is very simple to follow and the results speak for themselves. Use the whole system or just a single step to make your Acrylic tank look better than new.

Step #3 – Heavy Scratch remover will remove most heavier, deeper scratches, and other large abrasions from acrylic and most other plastic surfaces. The abrasive formula quickly removes scratches that would not normally be removed by most traditional plastic buffing compounds and allowing easy follow up with step #2 Fine Scratch Remover.

Requires use of Novus No. 1 and 2 for final finishing.

Works on a wide variety of plastic surfaces.

Instructions:

Step 1: Shake well. Test in an inconspicuous area.

Step 2: Apply NOVUS No. 3 liberally. Using a clean, soft cloth, polish with a firm back-and-forth motion at right angles to the scratches. Keep the cloth saturated with polish at all times.

Step 3: Continue polishing until only fine scratches remain. Using cloth, remove all remaining polish, this is very important! (any remaining polish will lead to further scratching on finer steps)

Step 4: Using a clean cloth, apply NOVUS No. 2 in a circular motion uniformly to entire surface. Polish using light pressure until NOVUS No. 2 dries to a light haze.

Step 5: Using a clean portion of the cloth, buff the surface clean. Follow with NOVUS No. 1 for best results.

For fine scratches that will not be removed by Novus #1 Plastic Clean & Shine we suggest using Novus #2 Fine Scratch Remover. Larger, deeper scratches may require Novus #3 Heavy Scratch Remover.

Note: Do not use on coated Plastics.
